In 2023, the average price for a wedding was £19,184 (£24,069 including ring and honeymoon). However not everyone has thousands to spend on a wedding. So if you're working towards a smaller wedding budget, this is the guide for you!

Wedding’s can get quite expensive very quickly but planning a wedding on a budget is completely doable. In most cases a budget friendly wedding can have all the aspects of an expensive one, but with some minor differences. Here are my top ways to have a budget friendly wedding.
Tips for Creating a Budget-Friendly Wedding
The Guest List
When planning your wedding, it can be tempting to invite everyone you know, however this can really bump up the price of your wedding.
Remember this is your day, and you are not obligated to invite anyone you don’t want to. Figure out who really matters to you and your partner and focus on just inviting them.

Custom Wedding Invites
Wedding invites can become very expensive very quickly, however one trick I have learnt is that Canva does some great designs for free! Looking to save a few more pennies? Sending the invites out digitally is a great way to avoid those printing costs.
Budget Friendly Catering
Food and drink can add up quickly, especially if you're wanting a sit down meal. Consider having a buffet style meal, these tend to be more affordable than a plated meal. You can get creative with this in many ways such as a fast food style buffet, or the traditional finger foods.

The Venue
The venue is one of the most important aspects of your wedding day but also the most expensive. Think about having an off-peak or weekday wedding. These are often more affordable than a Saturday wedding.

Planning a wedding on a budget doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your dream day. But by planning and being strategic you can create the most memorable day for a lower price!
Happy planning!
